Dear Friends,
Notes from the October 24th meeting are now on the website on the News and events page. You will notice too that we have added a link to a lecture by Professor Carenza Lewis, and we are currentlt arraging a date for out Opening event where she will be our guest of honour. Once the date is agreed I expect we shall have a meeting to begin planning the activities.
You will notice also that the wensite has been upgraded to remove the annoying adverts. We shall be in touch shortly with the next meetings and events, once they are scheduled.
Best wishes

Dear Friends,
You may have noticed that work is progressing well on the Manor House site. Thanks to those of you who have helped with the physical work and also to those who have been working on the education pack. Tony will no doubt be asking for more help on site in due course, and now that I am recovering I hope to help with the education materials. We would also like to hear from anyone who could progress the idea of including a wildflower area in our landscaping of the site. If you knowledgeable about this and could input that would be greatly appreciated.
We are hoping that even more of you will get directly involved in the next phase of the work. To that end we envisage several meetings taking place to work on the following:
- We need to put together a Village Trail noting key features of the village and their historical significance.
- We need to organise a series of events to engage the public, schools and to open the site to visitors. These will be scheduled for the summer but we need to start planning them soon.
- We need to liaise with experts to complete the recording and display of relevant finds, to ensure our planning of events and the Trail are based on accurate research. Tony is currently ascertaining the availability of relevant contacts to this end.
I suggest we convene the first of these meetings on Thursday October 24th at 7.30 p.m. It will take place at the Old Vicarage and the focus will be on the Village Trail. If you are interested please come along. We do seek your knowledge of the village to input into the Trail information. We may also do a wider village consultation on this later to capture what others may know.
I am very pleased to be able to re-engage with the project after my recent unplanned health issues and I hope you will lend us your support going forward.
Best wishes
Jackie Johnston ( Trustee)
